Electronic Arts is the largest Third Party company in the world and it is often said its support can make or break a new console. Therefore, when it acquires a company to focus purely on Nintendo's Wii it is sure to be a good sign.
EA has previously worked with Utah-based Headgate Studios on a external contract basis, but after six years it has now snapped Headgate up and is directing its focus onto Nintendo's Wii console.
For reference, Headgate previously worked on the Tiger Woods franchise, plus the PC editions of Madden and The Godfather. Vance Cook, founder and CEO of Headgate, is set to continue his role as Executive Producer, reporting to Nick Earl, Vice President & General Manager of EA Redwood Shores/Maxis.
