Next Zelda underway for Wii, Hourglass delayed

Zelda may be arriving a little late on the Nintendo DS. New rumours inside.

Fans may have waited years for Link's latest outing in Twilight Princess, but according to the latest edition of overseas magazine Game Informer, the next epic adventure may come sooner rather than later.

The mag writes, "Our sources tell us that the next installment in this series has been deep in development for around a year," but adds, "It's highly unlikely that Nintendo would release two Zelda games a year apart, but don't be surprised if this game comes up sooner than you think."

Link's next Wii adventure won't be coming before Nintendo DS owners are treated to The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass though, which had previously been delayed until early next year. GI now states that the game will instead be released in mid-October of next year, while others suggest that it'll undergo a reworking during the extra time.

These claims remain totally unconfirmed, so don't hold your breath. But, be sure to stick by for more on the future of Zelda.
