Nintendo Wii Controller Is Mac Friendly, Too

The Wii remote is getting a lot of non-console related use these days.  First came GlovePIE, which converted the controller into a mouse for PC/Windows.

Control Games with Gestures, Speech, and Other Input Devices! With GlovePIE you can now play any game, or control any software or MIDI devices, using whatever controls you want. This includes joysticks, gamepads, mice, keyboards, MIDI input devices, HMDs, Wiimotes, trackers, and of course, Virtual Reality gloves!

But that left Mac and its OS left out of all the fun — until now.  The newest kid on the block is the DarwiinRemote, which was created specifically with Mac in mind.  Same basic concept, but the Nintendo Wii controller works on a Mac when it’s in “AppleRemote” mode.

Go experiment to your heart’s delight.
